1. About the Service
Pleis'ið ("we", "us", "the platform") is an online classified marketplace operating at pleis.is. By creating an account or posting a listing you agree to these terms. These terms are governed by Icelandic law and the laws of the European Economic Area (EEA).
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Pleis'ið. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal capacity to enter into contracts in Iceland or your country of residence.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@pleis.is if you suspect unauthorised use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Listings
When you post a listing you confirm that: • You own or are authorised to sell the item or service • The listing content is accurate and not misleading • The item or service is legal to sell in Iceland and the EEA We reserve the right to remove listings that violate these terms or applicable law without notice.
5. Prohibited Content
You may not list or offer: • Illegal goods or services • Counterfeit or stolen items • Weapons, explosives, or controlled substances • Content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights • Adult content or services • Financial instruments or fraudulent schemes Violations may result in immediate account termination and may be reported to law enforcement.
6. Transactions
Pleis'ið facilitates connections between buyers and sellers. We are not a party to any transaction between users. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of any listed item or service. Where payment processing is available on the platform, transactions are subject to the applicable payment provider's terms. We are not responsible for errors, disputes, or failures in payment processing.
7. Fees
Basic listings are currently free. We may introduce fees for premium features (such as featured placement or boosted visibility) at any time. Fees will be clearly disclosed before you are charged.
8. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of content you post. By posting content on Pleis'ið you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the platform and in related marketing. The Pleis'ið name, logo, and software are our intellectual property and may not be used without our written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pleis'ið is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including losses arising from transactions between users, inaccurate listings, or platform downtime. Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the fees you have paid to us in the 12 months prior to the claim.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
